Visit our resort on Lembeh

Divers walking on jetty.

Since opening its doors in October 2017, Thalassa Dive Resort Lembeh has become a fan-favorite among both repeaters and new guests. So if you are on the fence about visiting Lembeh, let’s take a closer look at our resort.

Lembeh and its tranquility…

Getting to Lembeh & the resort

On the east coast of North Sulawesi, you will find Lembeh Island a short distance from the mainland. A 90-minute car ride from the airport or our resort at Manado takes you to the harbor town of Bitung.

From Bitung, you then jump on to one of our boats, with only 15 minutes to the resort. On the way you’ll notice Lembeh being green and lush, with tall palm trees gently swaying in the sea breeze. This is why it’s easy to get caught up in its alluring beauty.

The body of water between Lembeh and the mainland is known as the Lembeh Strait. Renowned for its enormous variety of underwater critters, macro photographers call this the muck-diving capital of the world.

Closer look at the resort

Lembeh beach vibes…

We built the resort on a terraced slope, and all bungalows are overlooking the sea. The dive center and rental equipment area is right next to the jetty.

The Santai & Sabar

Restaurant "Sabar" view.

We call the main restaurant the Santai, which means “relax” or “cool off” in Indonesian. It’s a perfect a spot to hang out with a cold Bintang and just stare out into the Lembeh Strait. With a gentle sea breeze blowing, the place gives the feel of a boutique resort. The Sabar lounge directly overlooks the beach. If you want to relax, this is the place to do it.

Our chefs cook up delicious meals in the Minahasa tradition with a modern twist. Additionally, our famous Pizza Tuesdays in Manado are now also possible here, thanks to the wood oven.

Lembeh rooms

Lembeh Bungalow interior.

Thalassa Dive Resort Lembeh boasts 9 double or twin bungalows and three single deluxe rooms, equipped with a fridge, amenities and a walk-in closet. On the private patio in front, you relax with a good book and a sea view, but if you want to “go out”, the Sabar and Santai are only a short distance away. The single deluxe rooms share a common veranda.

Dive center and rental

Our small dive center is right next to the jetty, so you can just exit the boat, drop off your diving gear and move on to enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Our compressors fill up tanks with either regular air or Nitrox, and in case you need equipment, rental gear is also available.

Locally built furniture

Traditionally built furniture

All of our furniture was hand-made in Bitung by our good friend Heintje and his team. This means we keep all the work in the hands of local craftsmen, so we don’t fill pockets of the big furniture companies of this world.

Come as a guest…

If you are planning to pay North Sulawesi a visit, why not check out Thalassa Dive Resort Lembeh for something different? We’ll be waiting for you!
