PADI Courses

Thalassa is a 5* PADI training center. Whether you want to dive for the first time or to learn special skills, Thalassa has the best instructors to teach you, using the internationally recognised PADI method. If you have limited time or if you prefer to get wet as soon as possible, we advise you to take the PADI E-learning option and prepare the theory for your course in your own time and at your own pace.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving and PADI Bubble Maker

Would you like to have a slow first attempt to dive? If so, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course will be the best choice for you. Everyone with the age between 10 and 100 can participate in this program. Are you traveling with kids with the age of 8-9? For them we offer the PADI Bubble Maker course. With both programs the participants first learn to dive safely and comfortably in the pool. Everyone who feels comfortable enough will be immediately afterwards taken to their first Open Water Dive in the spectacular underwater world of the Bunaken National Park.

Open Water Diver

The Open Water Diver course is the first dive course to get a real license. The course takes about four days and starts almost immediately in the water. You learn how to use the equipment and to do a few simple exercises. After the first pool session and basic information on dive safety, we take you to make your first dive.

Then the pace is up to you, because after that you must read the Open Water Manual and take the tests after each chapter. You will also be required to take some multiple choice tests and an exam which you will discuss afterward with your instructor to make sure that you have understood all important information. Together with your instructor you will then plan your remaining pool dives and four open water dives.

Do you have only a short break or do you simply like to prepare yourself at home? Send us an email and ask for an e-learning code to start your experiment immediately. It is fun and you will arrive well-prepared. It also saves you time on site and you can only focus on the practical skills. But, don't worry! Your instructor will still answer any of your questions!

Advanced Open Water Diver

This course, also known as Adventure Diver, is the logical successor of the Open Water Diver course and usually lasts two days. The goal is simple: to gain experience under supervision so your fun underwater increases even more. In this course you will make five dives, each with a specific goal: A deep dive to 30 meters to better learn to plan and control your dive and a navigation dive to improve the navigation skills you learned in the Open water Diver course. The last three dives to complete the course can be chosen in your own interest. You can choose from Peak Performance Buoyancy, Photography, Fish Identification, Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Underwater Naturalist, Drift diving, or one of the Project AWARE dives.

Emergency First Response and Rescue Diver

The PADI Emergency First Response certification is required to start with your Rescue Diver course which is a must for all serious divers. For this course you need some more experience. During the dive sessions you will learn skills that will help others in an emergency, you will learn to respond appropriately, manage, and delegate in diving emergencies and accidents. The course will take four days.

PADI Specialties

Diving is fun! That's why we offer you not only the general courses, but a variety of special programs such as Deep Diver, Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, AWARE Coral Reefs, AWARE Fish ID, Underwater Naturalist, Digital Photographer, Wreck Diver, Nitrox & Navigation Specialties.

PADI Professional

The Divemaster course is the first step towards a career in diving, or for divers who want more responsibility. The subsequent steps are the Assistant Instructor course and the Open Water Instructor course. The latter two are well known as the Instructor Development Course or IDC. For more information about PADI Professional courses at the 5* IDC Centre of Thalassa you can contact us. Moreover, you find the dates and packages for the IDC's 2016 here.
