Divers at Bunaken Island - Graham Willis

The NTTI is an organisation that want to transform North-Sulawesi into a role model region to stop ocean plastic at its source. Of course without any hesitation we are more than happy to have such a great cause on our side.

The Initiative is founded by divers who are passionate about ocean conservation, with an especially strong focus on solutions to deal with plastic.

For example, here in Manado the NTTI regularly collects waste which had been gathered during our beach clean ups. After collection, it then gets processed to be recycled.

Aside from this, they have also installed several waste barriers at river estuaries in the area, preventing waste ending up into our beautiful ocean!

I'm a PADI Advanced Open Water diver, I do guest relations and resort management at Thalassa Dive Resorts Indonesia. Whether I'm diving the walls of Bunaken to spot schools of fish & turtles, or explore the sandy flats of Lembeh with its fascinating underwater creatures- I love all of it.
