It can rain more between the months of November through April/May. Starting in May, rainfall is less.

What is the water temperature?

At Bunaken and Manado, the sea water is around the 28ºC (82.4ºF) range. At Lembeh, it's usually a little colder: 26ºC (78.8ºF) up to 28ºC (82.4ºF). For most people, diving in a 3mm wetsuit is more than adequate.

What precautions should I take?

Apply reef-safe sun lotion, wear a hat and stay in the shade. Malaria very rarely occurs in this area, so no need for malaria pills.

What language do people speak?

Bahasa Indonesia is widely understood as it's the lingua franca, but in North Sulawesi most people speak Manado Malay or Manadonese. English is not widely spoken here, except at the airport and of course at our resorts.

Religion is an important part of daily life. Around two-thirds of North Sulawesi is primarily Christian.

In North Sulawesi, people have fairly progressive attitudes to fashion. However, we advise our guests to wear sensible clothing when venturing outside our resorts.

Indonesia uses European Type C/F sockets (two prongs) at 220 volts, so Europeans need no travel adapters.

At our resorts

Do you have WiFi?

Free WiFi is available at both resorts.

Is the water safe to drink?

We provide drinking water in the rooms and resort lobbies. The tap water, though not suitable for drinking, is perfectly safe for brushing your teeth, for example.

What if I have a food allergy?

Our kitchen is always informed of our guests' dietary restrictions.

What about mosquitoes?

Although harmless, mosquitoes can be a nuisance. We provide mosquito netting in Lembeh. We advise against using strong chemicals such as Deet, since there are much gentler (and cheaper) lotions available that do the job just as well.

Can you babysit my child?

We can offer babysitting service so that you can go diving, knowing that your child is 100% safe.
